In the Roman Catholic Church of St. George on Voloshin street, people paid tribute to soldiers who died in the East. Near the sculpture of the Virgin Mary, they put portraits of soldiers, laid flowers and lit candles.
They held a joint prayer for the fallen heroes of Uzhgorod.
Among the killed Transcarpathians, there are two from Uzhgorod.
At 21.00, even more Uzhgorod residents came to Taras Shevchenko monument on Narodna Square, where they brought flowers and lit lanterns and candles near the photos of four fallen heroes (Oleksandr Popadynets, Mykhailo Kulya, Serhiy Martyn and Roland Popovich). The ceremony of farewell to the fallen Uzhgorod soldiers will take place on June 21, in the building of the regional music drama theater.
The ceremony of paying tribute to heroes, who died defending the integrity and independence of the country, will take place from 9.00 to 12.00.
Then, at noon, the memorial service for the victims will begin. After the service, bodies of the heroes will be delivered to the cemetary for burial.
