Volyn resident tries to smuggle in UAH 300,000 worth of undeclared goods

On February 24, a 27-year-old resident of Volyn attempted to illegally import LED power supplies and boards worth almost UAH 300,000 from Romania to Ukraine.

The man crossed the border in a Volvo truck at the Dyakove-Halmeu border crossing. He chose the “red corridor” and assured the customs officers that he was only carrying personal belongings.

However, during a cabin inspection, the officers found undeclared foreign-made goods on the driver’s upper bunk.

It turned out that, at the request of the head of the carrier company, the driver was trying to move 35 OSRAM LED power supplies and 5 boards for V-ВОХ V8.1.2 across the customs border.

The driver did not hide the goods, and the customs inspectors were able to access them during the customs control and inspection of the vehicle.

The total value of the illegally transported goods on the Internet is almost UAH 300,000. The exact amount will be determined by a specialist.

A report was drawn up on this fact for violation of customs rules, provided for by Part 2 of Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for a fine of 30% of the value of these goods.
