Transcarpathian chocolatier prepares sculpture in honor of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo

Known all over Ukraine Uzhgorod chocolatier Valentin Shtefanyo created for the Christmas holidays a Christmas tree made of sweets. The material was French pastries – macaroons. The edible tree for several weeks has been standing in Valentin’s cafe in Uzhgorod.

The chocolatier told the reporter of the ZIK-Stream Victoria Zhuyko-Szabo that, while baking macaroons, he was guided by tips of his sister, who lives in France and specializes in the making of this kind of sweets. "I honestly do not know how many macaroons are there. About five hundred. The process took about four hours" – he said.

The confectioner also said what he plans to do next, as Shtefanyo has already amazed Uzhgorod with a 30 kg chocolate Easter egg. The next piece of the master will be devoted to social issues and refer to the attack by militants on workers of the French weekly Charlie Hebdo.

"There is the idea, since we represent a French culture of making of sweets, to make such a stylized sculpture on Charlie, relatated to freedom of speech, because this topic is relevant for our country too," – Valentin Shtefanyo said.
