The next one! Tymoshenko’s defender also has been deprived of the parliamentary mandate

The Supreme Administrative Court deprived Serhiy Vlasenko of the deputy mandate.

The decision was read by Judge Mykhailo Zaitsev at the meeting on March 6.

"A panel of judges came to the conclusion that the circumstances stated in the statement of claim are justified, and therefore the administrative action shall be subject to satisfaction" – the judge read.

"The administrative action of the Speaker Volodymyr Rybak to the MP Serhiy Vlasenko shall be satisfed. Vlasenko’s parliamentary powers shall be terminated," – the judge added.

He stressed that the decision is final and not appealable.  

Thus the court found that Vlasenko, while being an MP, was engaged in lawyer’s practice.

As you know, March 1, the Chairman of the Parliament Volodymyr Rybak appealed to the Supreme Administrative Court of Ukraine to deprive Serhiy Vlasenko of the parliamentary mandate on the basis of the decision of the Regulations Committee, which allegedly took place on February 27.

However, MPs from the opposition, who are members of the committee, said that the committee had not met and therefore had not taken any decision.

But, on March 4th, the majority of the Regulations Committee refused to review the decision.

March 6, the Prosecutor General’s Office confirmed that Serhiy Vlasenko spoke at court meetings on Yulia Tymoshenko’s case as the defender, but in the status of an MP, not as a lawyer.
