To Germany – for the tourism seminar
“Exhibit and event tourism” was the title of this year’s seminar in Germany for Uzhgorod students of the tourism department. Several times a year, Darmstadt bureau of sister cities together with members of the World Tourism Organization SKAL, Darmstadt Southern Hessen Club organize educational seminars on various topics for Uzhgorod and other students. Since Transcarpathia is deemed to be the land of festivals and tourism events, they wanted to show students how German experts approach the organization of such events.

Today it’s hard to believe, but thanks to Transcarpathian Yuri Turyanytsya – a teacher and a coach from a small town of Korosten – the team of Zhytomyr region competed on equal terms with teams of Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk, nine of his students have become masters of sports of the USSR in orienteering, were in the USSR national team, gained a lot of big victories on the national and international competitions.
