Slovak officials argued about the new checkpoint in Transcarpathia

The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda today, March 20, at the press conference answered the questions about the prospects of new entry points on Ukrainian-Slovak and Ukrainian-Polish border in V. Berezny district.

In particular, he said, during the next intergovernmental negotiations on the opening of the crossing point Zabrid-Ulich, one of the Slovak ministry officials said that the Slovak party was not interested.

However, the head of the Prešov self-governing region Khudik Peter said that even if it was not interesting for Bratislava, it was very interesting for residents of Presov region. So they still plan to make a pedestrian and bicycle crossing point between settlements of Zabrid and Slovak Ulich. Ledyda said that the Ukrainian party will take care about the construction of infrastructure.

Likewise, there is still hope to arrange a crossing point Lubnya-Volosate from Transcarpathia to Poland. And the arguments, that there is a reserve on the Polish side there, are not relevant, because there is a checkpoint in the largest reserve on the border of Poland and Belarus.
