Thus, more than one thousand participants of the traditional sporting event paid tribute to the Transcarpathians soldiers killed while defending the eastern borders of our country.
However, after a minute of honoring the heroes and the grand opening, the Olimpic event took place anyway – though without music, but with much fervor in the eyes of the participants, awards from the organizers and the right words that sport is a key to the future health of the nation, the strength of its future defenders.
The traditional sports festival "Olympic running day", which was held on the initiative of and organized by the Transcarpathian Regional Branch of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, was attended by students of all schools in the city, eight youth sports schools and sports clubs.
After the race at 1000 meters, all participants received Olympic caps, badges, certificates of participation in the race. Here, young athletes were treated with buckwheat with meat from the field kitchen, provided by rescuers, and biscuits and tea from the NGO "Self-help of Transcarpathia." The latter also provide some of sports equipment for the holiday.
Also, according to the chief referee, Anatoliy Kolomoyets, in addition to traditional running at a distance of 1,000 meters, at the festival of sport, they peresented various types of martial arts such as Karate, Kyokushin Karate, Horting. "Invasport" amazed with the installation for fencing in wheelchairs for athletes with disabilities. Sports and patriotic clubs performed demonstration fight shows, and gymnastics clubs showed the performances of flexible gymnast girls.
The holiday finished at noon, however, the majority of participants stayed in the Bozdosh park for recreation, socializing, walking and training.
