A citizen of Ukraine, at the customs post "Tisa" of the Chop customs office, wanted to cross the border and enter Hungary. He drove to the checkpoint by a passenger minibus "MERCEDES-BENZ SPRINTER 315 CDI". He decided to take customs control in the "green corridor" and verbally stated that he was not hiding any goods or items. Having analyzed and assessed all risks, officers of the Chop customs decided to send the vehicle to the box for in-depth customs inspection.
As a result of the in-depth customs inspection of the "MERCEDES-BENZ", they found goods hidden from customs control, namely tobacco products, including: 1289 packs of "COMPLIMENT Super Slims 3", 4784 packs of "MARLBORO GOLD ORIGINAL", 9 packs of "NZ Black Super Slims", 1476 packs of "NZ Gold Super Slims", 500 packs of "KISS Fresh Apple Superslims", 490 packs of "KISS Romantic Superslims", 500 packs of "KISS MOHITO mini", 500 packs of "KISS DESSERT mini". In total, customs experts found 9548 packs of cigarettes.
The tobacco products were hidden in a specially constructed caches.
The cost of the seized filtered cigarettes with excise stamps of Ukraine "MARLBORO GOLD ORIGINAL" in total of 4784 packs, according to the price listed on the manufacturer’s packaging, is more than 86,000 UAH. Valuation of other seized cigarettes requires additional assessment involving an expert.
Such actions of the citizen of Ukraine, in particular moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control using specially made caches, have signs of violation of customs regulations under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, officers of the Chop Customs seized 9548 packs of tobacco products and the minibus "MERCEDES-BENZ SPRINTER 315 CDI" worth more than 275,000 UAH.
