Yesterday, border guards of "Uzhgorod" unit of Chop border guard detachment thanks to received information, could prevent another attempt to illegally cross the border.
As a result of well planned and organized measures, they detained two men who were heading to the EU outside crossing point and without documents proving identity. The detainees, who had been stopped just a few hundred meters away from the Slovakian border, told border guards that they were citizens of Georgia, and were heading to one of the EU countries.
As a result of detention, administrative and procedural documents against the offenders have been executed for trying to illegally cross the border. Decision on the futher fate of all detainees will be taken by the court.
