Bohatyryova promised Transcarpathian doctors a number of benefits and allowances (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

The Ministry of Health became the first among all government institutions to conduct a large-scale teleconference "Ask the Minister". The event was dedicated to the National week of TB fighting and was conducted in videoconference format. Raisa Bohatyryova talked with the staff and patients of 54 TB clinics.

In Transcarpathia, the online conference of the Minister with doctors and patients was held in such medical facilities as "Phthisiology" Medical Association and sanatorium "Chovnyk."

In her opening speech, the Minister said that prior to the videoconference the Ministry of Health had carefully studied the appeals from regions.   According to Raisa Bohatyriova, it is necessary to reconsider the work load on TB doctors and to introduce departments of monitoring, as well as psychologists, social workers and drug therapists into the staffing of antituberculosis institutions. These proposals, according to the Minister, will be taken into account when preparing amendments to the Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine dd. February 23, 2000 № 33 "On staffing ratios and typical staffing of health care institutions."

Equally important, says the head of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, is an issue of adequate remuneration. "Your job is complicated by the constant risk of infection. Therefore, during the session of the Government, which was held March 20, 2013, they approved the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "On some issues of remuneration to employees of TB facilities." The introduction of this resolution on July 1, 2013 will set a number of benefits and allowances for employees of specialized TB institutions – medical, nursing and paramedical health personnel" – Bohatyryova said.
