An Uzhgorod resident made a bad joke by throwing a mock grenade at his friends (PHOTOS)

For this stupid prank, Uzhgorod police opened a criminal proceeding against the prankster.
In the morning, a 34-year-old resident of the city reported to Uzhgorod city police that near one of the cafes in the "Novy" neighbourhood, an unidentified man had thrown an object similar to a grenade.
The investigative team and police patrol officers were sent to the scene. Also, the management of the regional police office, the Organized Crime Department, Uzhgorod police department and experts of the Research Forensic Center at the MIA Office arrived at the scene. Also, all emergency services of the city were called.
The premises of the facility and the surrounding area was cordoned off and guarded by police officers.   
It was established that the offense has been committed by a 22-year-old Uzhgorod resident – an employee of one of the entertainment agencies. 
The "prankster" told police officers that all night he had been drinking with friends in different recreation facilities. In the last one of them, a quarrel arose between him and his friend. Because of that, the drunk guy went home, took a mock grenade, returned to them and threw it at their feet… According to the young man, he found the grenade several years ago on the street, and was keeping it at home.
This item was seized and sent to the Research Forensic Center at the regional MIA Office for examination.
Nobody was injuried.
The police investigator registered this incident in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations and opened criminal proceeding unbder Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism), which provides for a punishment in the form of a fine ranging from five hundred to one thousand times the tax-free income of citizens, arrest for up to six months, or restraint of liberty for up to five years.
