Yesterday, an accident happened in Transcarpathia – a resident of Mukachevo died, and two other victims of the accident suffered bodily injuries

As a result of a road accident in Khust, the driver of a Volkswagen died, and passengers of an Opel Vivaro were hospitalized. The police started criminal proceeding over the accident.

Yesterday, October 23, around 14:00, on the bypass road in the direction from the city of Khust to Tyachiv, there was an accident, as a result of which one person died, and two more were injured. 
The investigative team, which arrived at the scene, identified the cause of the accident. According to the investigators, the driver of a Volkswagen, a resident of Mukachevo, while making an overtaking maneuver, caused a frontal collision with an Opel Vivaro. 
The Volkswagen driver died from multiple injuries in the intensive care unit of the Khust District Hospital, while two passengers of the Opel Vivaro were hospitalized and are currently being treated in the trauma department of the medical facility. 

The police opened a criminal proceeding over the accident under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of the road safety rules, that caused the death of the victim or caused severe bodily harm).
The cars were taken to the impound lot of the Khust police department. The investigation continues.
