Winter Transcarpathia is waiting for tourists

In nearly all districts of Transcarpathia, there are facilities that provide services in ski tourism. The only exceptions are Beregovo, Uzhgorod and Vynogradiv districts. This was announced during the briefing by the Head of the Tourism Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Denys Man. According to data obtained from the districts, as of the beginning of December, the facilities in Mizhhirya, Rakhiv and Mukachevo district are reserved almost entirely, in Velyky Berezny and Volovets district – at 70 percent.
According to the conducted monitoring, there are 60 operating ski lifts in Transcarpathia, at the ski facilities of the region there are 35 snow groomers and 45 rentals of ski equipment. According to Denys Man, the owners of ski facilities are actively using artificial snowmaking, namely they establish snow cannons along the entire length of ski slopes.

  There are 21 webcams at the ski resorts of the region, using which one can see the amount of snow and natural conditions online.

In winter, tourists in Transcarpathia will also have an opportunity to visit a number of traditional festivals. Those include international festival-competition "Red Wine" in Mukachevo, the regional festival "Carolling in the old village" in the Transcarpathian Ethnographic Museum, and three in Beregovo district – the festival of butchers in the village of Hecha, the festival of home-made sausage in the village of Astey, and the folk festival of jam in the village of Hecha.

  According to the portal Booking.com, Uzhgorod is in the top three Ukrainian cities where the majority of Ukrainians want to celebrate New Year. According to Denys Man, more than 75 percent of rooms in the regional center hotels is booked for first days of December: "For comparison, in Lviv and Chernivtsi – 95 and 85 percent respectively. Thus, this year, Uzhgorod is ahead of Odesa and Kyiv."
