Wind power stations and tourism: are we ready to lose more than we think? (PHOTOS)

Recently, social media users have been actively discussing the installation of alternative energy facilities in Transcarpathia in general and in mountainous areas in particular. We think it will be interesting to present the point of view of the head of the Mukachevo Tourist Center Max Adamenko on this problem. On his Facebook page, he wrote:

Alternative energy is a good name for the energy sector, which has a considerably less impact on the environment.
Yes, indeed, there are no harmful emissions, no toxic waste, energy sources are renewable. All this is definitely great! I am a supporter of alternative energy!
But are we ready to lose more than we think? Do we need to use the picturesque mountains for wind turbines and lose incredible sunsets and landscapes? Do we need to build hydroelectric power stations and lose protected forests and fauna? Do we need to use fertile soils for the construction of solar power plants when there are empty barrens?
Are we ready to plunder the beauty, unique natural attractions, places of historical events that can bring local communities a lot more money than rent for small pieces of land, but push away tourists?

Here are several photos with an alternative view and alternative energy.
