According to the director of the SE "Rakhiv forestry" Volodymyr Prystupa, the forest plantations of Hoverla, Bila Tisa, Shchaul, Ust River and Bohdan forestries were affected by the wind. Bohdan forestry was affected the least.
Volodymyr Mykhailovych said that most of the fallen trees would be suitable for processing. The task of all the enterprise services is to promptly arrange clearing of all areas, before the timber loses its qualities and turns into firewood. It must be done within 2,5-3 months. Fortunately, there are no problems with sales. All available equipment and workforce will need to be engaged. In short, we will have to work at full capacity.
Currently, the state forestry workers, in accordance with the Sanitary Rules of Ukraine, are taking sanitary measures to bring the affected plantations to a proper condition.
