“Where does the Tisa start?” – this week, starts a new festival in Transcarpathia

On Sunday, July 22, the festival "Where does the Tisa start?" starts in Rakhiv district near the source of the Chorna Tisa river (the "Okoly" tract). The festival will be held for the first time, but with the participants from many countries and an interesting program.

At 11.00, guests of the festival – regional officials and diplomatic representatives of the Tisa basin countries, as well as a delegation from the Czech Republic – will be solemnly met near the Yasinya town council. They will be joined by representatives of the Rakhiv and Tyachiv districts. Then, the holiday will continue at the main location – the "Okoly" tract, where the official opening will take place at 14.00. The guests of the festival, representatives of the countries of the Tisa river basin, will plant near the source of the Chorna Tisa river five seedlings of evergreen coniferous yew.

At 15.00, the concert program will start. The singer of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic, People’s Artist of Ukraine Petro Matiy, well-known folk amateur ensemble of song and dance "Lisorub" of Velyky Bychkiv Village House of Culture and a number of other amateur groups of Rakhiv and Tyachiv district will take part intit. 

Traditionally, there will be a lot of Hutsul food and the presentation of art works by local folk craftsmen.
