What, where, when on the weekend in Transcarpathia (August 1-2)

August 1 – within the framework of the project "Handicraft Manufactory "Palanok" in the Mukachevo History Museum, there will be online quests from the series "Secrets of the Castle Workshop" – this time "Majestic Woman in the Shadow of a Man". See here – Facebook page "Handicraft Manufactory "Palanok".

An artisan’s master class will also be held in the Palanok, but by appointment, as the number of participants is limited. The beginning is at 18.00 (Palanok Castle, Mukachevo).

August 1 – a light two-hour rafting on the Latorytsia river, lunch at the finish (bograch), a hike to the Skakalo waterfall, tours of the castles of St. Miklos and the Counts of Schönborn (organizer – "Travels with Oleksander") (details of the event are on Facebook). The beginning is at 9.00 (start from Svalyava).

August 2 – The Palace of Culture and Arts in Mukachevo continues a good tradition – online broadcast of concerts. This time, it will be a performance by the string quartet of Serhiy Dobosh. Concert will be broadcast on the official page of the Palace of Culture and Arts on YouTube channel, as well as on facebookinstagram. The beginning is at 19.00.

August 2 – Master class "Red roofs. Watercolor", organized by the art studio "FEDOR DESIGN INTERIOR STUDIO". Oleksiy Fedor, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, a teacher at the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts, will teach you painting (all necessary materials are provided, duration is 2 hours, registration by phone 0632008792). 13.00 -15.00 (Novak st., 16 (2nd floor), Uzhgorod).

August 2 – master class in pottery. Teacher – Yosyp Geisler. 11.00 – 15.00 (pottery workshop, Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life, Kapitulna st., 33a, Uzhgorod).

August 2 – 7 – Third Summer School of Project Writing, organized by CEASC. See more details here. The beginning is on August 2 at 17.00 (Ungvarsky Wellness Hotel, Uzhgorod). 

August 3 – 16 – International Symposium of Sculptors, organized by the NGO "Pro Arte Munkach" with the support of the Consulate of Hungary in Beregovo, the Society of Hungarian Culture of Transcarpathia, Transcarpathian F. Rakoczi II Hungarian Institute and Beregovo City Council. The artists will be working outdoor, so you can watch them (the village of Yanoshi, Beregovo district).

August 6 – presentation of the book "Eastern Wall" by writer, traveler, playwright, journalist Maxim Bespalov. The beginning is at 17.00 (courtyard, Transcarpathian Regional Universal Scientific Library named after F. Potushnyak (Svoboda Ave., 16, Uzhgorod).

August 6 – 19 – project “Calling mother. Me, Mother and Bilky" organized by Uzhgorod artist, a native of the village of Bilky in Irshava district Petro Ryaska. The beginning is on August 6 at 15.00 ("Uzhgorod" Gallery, Svoboda Ave., 7/26, Uzhgorod).

August 7 – "UzhGreenFest" organized by the Student Government of Uzhgorod. The beginning is at 11.00 (Pidzamkovy Park, Uzhgorod).

August 7 – a master class on creating a lavender heart with Maria Kosko. During the work you will hear interesting legends about lavender, try lavender tea, cookies and chocolate with lavender and mint (pre-registration, payment required, duration is 3 hours, materials are provided).

The beginning is at 11:00 (Smart Point, Shvabska st., 25a, Uzhgorod).

Exhibitions:  

– exhibition of the artist, sculptor who lived in Beregovo, Sándor Siehermann (Consulate of Hungary in Beregovo).

– the first amateur mini-photo exhibition of journalist Natalia Madzhara. Within the framework of this project, the Carpathian landscapes contrast well with the steppe landscapes of the Kherson region (S. Hollosy Art Gallery, Tyachiv).

– On the occasion of the 50th anniversary, exhibition of works of decorative and applied art "Holiday of folk talents". Embroidery and weaving of folk craftswomen Iryna Kutsyk, Hanna Leshkiv, Olga Baiko, Elvira Vesheleni, products of potters from the village of Vilkhivka, Irshava district, brothers Halas Mykhailo and Ivan, his successor Oleksandr Dvorak, as well as works by Endre Hidi and Endryk Iryna from Uzhgorod district. Every day, except Tuesday, 10.00 – 18.00 (Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life, Kapitulna st. 33a, Uzhgorod).
