What, where and when to do at the weekend in Transcarpathia (27-28 February)

27 – 28 February – festival "Uzhhorodska palachinta". The programme includes: celebrations, entertainments; unusual contests (i.e. the tastiest pancake); interesting prizes; surprises for children and adults; Transcarpathian cuisine; degustation of drinks and pancakes; photo area; lottery by the Movement for supporting Transcarpathian soldiers; traditional burning of the winter spirit (Bozdosh park, Uzhhorod).

27 – 28 February – the exhibition by the pupils of the B. Barok Vynohradovo children art school ("Impasto" gallery, Vynohradovo).

27 – 28 February –  "Stritenski zustrichi" – exhibition of contemporary icons of the icon workshop "Nebo na Zemli" ("Heaven on the Earth") (Mariya Pavelko Gallery). Also the exhibit-trade of the canvases from the plen air from the collection of Viktor Chepynets. 10:00 – 18:00 (Museum of Folk Architecture and Life, Uzhhorod).

27 – 28 February –  the vernissage of Taras Tabaka’s "Egoist" project. The project contains short films mounted from the point of view of an observer in our not always and not fully comprehensible postmodern world. Saturday – 11.00 – 21.00, Sunday – 12.00-19.00 (Ilko gallery, Uzhhorod).

27 – 28 February –  the retrospective exhibition of Volodymyr Mykyta, National artist of Ukraine, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the artist. Paintings of different stages of his life are presented.  9.00 – 17.00 (Y. Bokshay Art Museum, Uzhhorod).

27 – 29 February – the exhibition of the J.Bokshai and A.Erdeli prizewinners (foyer of the Transcarpathian RSA, Uzhhorod).

28 February – a play for children "The snowmen and the Sun" (O.Veselov). Beginning at 11:00 and 13:00 (Regional Academic Puppet Theatre Bavka, Uzhhorod).
