“Warm “Indian summer” in Transcarpathia is not anomaly” – weather forecasters

After a significant temperature drop in late September, the onset of sunny and warmer days in October (the maximum temperatures are up to +25) is extremely pleasing. Moreover, for the next 10 days, the weather is expected to be no less pleasant. Although over the course of two consecutive days, Transcarpathia has been breaking temperature records in the history of observations (since 1945), long-term observational data suggest that the overall temperature of the first decade of October 2018 was close to normal. For example: in 1966, the beginning of October was the warmest in the history of observation, since the average air temperature exceeded this year’s numbers by almost 6 degrees.
In general, for plants, high temperature conditions are good. The warm and dry weather contributes to harvesting. However, the lack of rainfall is an unfavourable factor. As of October 8, there were insufficient reserves of productive moisture in the arable layer of soil in the lower districts of the region. It negatively affects winter crops. The seed does not have enough moisture for germination and growing. And since no precipitation is expected in the coming days, the situation will only get worse. Many different plants, including fruit trees, have blossomed. But such a phenomenon is not something extraordinary. This phase is called "secondary flowering" and it happens almost every year. Mostly, this process is observed at the end of summer or in autumn. The weather in Transcarpathia during the second decade of October is expected to be dry, almost cloudless and quite warm. And although the second decade of October is likely to be 2-3 degrees above the norm, it is not an anomaly.
