Vynogradiv opened the window to Lithuania

Communal Enterprise "Agency for Regional Development of Vynogradiv District" has established partnership relations with Lithuania. For three years the agency has been working on a powerful project – the creation of an agro-industrial park, the purpose of which is the development of a marketing network in the northern regions of Ukraine, the Baltic States and Belarus.
– It started with the appeal of a group of farmers from the village of Velyki Komiaty in Vinogradiv District concerning the problematic issue of surplus agricultural products, – says Volodymyr Shevchuk. – What we see on the roadsides between Komiaty, Siltse and Zarichchya is actually is a market scheme.
Our task is to put this chaotic system in some order, to build infrastructure. But the main task is the search of sales markets: neighbors from the north and east, Belarus, Baltic countries and Russia.
We decided to hold a real meeting, because when you communicate by phone or online you can not achieve the same result as when you work directly with representatives of certain countries. These Ukrainian-Lithuanian negotiations gave real results.
The meeting in the town of Telsiai (Lithuania) was attended by the director of the "Agency for Regional Development of Vynogradiv District" Volodymyr Shevchuk, Lithuanian city mayor, the head of the local administration, the chief architect, heads of departments, the head of a business incubator.  They acquainted with the state of affairs of this small Baltic town and region, presented a roadmap for innovation and investment development. During the presentation a teleconference with the Ministry of Economy of Lithuania was held. The meeting was held in an interesting assembly hall, which is equipped with electronic means of communication. Every resident of Lithuania could participate in this on-line conference, watch the meeting and ask questions.
The result of the visit was the signing of joint declaration of intent and contracts for sales of both countries’ products: in particular, Lithuanian fish and dairy products, and Transcarpathian vegetables and fruits.
