Vasyl Hubal called all political forces and social movements to reconciliation

Commenting during his press conference on the events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration not only invited countrymen to join all the celebrations, but also called all forces, that have influence in the region, to mutual understanding and reconciliation – for the benefit of Ukraine.

"It is time for reconciliation and we should shake hands with all who have defended and is defending Ukraine and its independence. I also invite all political forces and social movements – from radical to conservative – to take part in the celebration of May 8th, the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation in Ukraine and May 9, the Day of Victory over Nazism in World War II. We all have to commemorate these dates with the intention of understanding and reconciliation. I suggest to honor the memory of all those who have fought for Ukraine, against fascism and to pay tribute to all the heroes of Ukraine – from gray-haired veterans to those who are currently defending the state or have died for it in the new war."

The head of the region emphasized that honoring the dates in the new circumstances – during the war for independence and integrity of Ukraine – we should use national symbols and the symbol recognized in Europe for honoring those who have died in the struggle against fascism – red poppy.

The head of the RSA said that events on the occasion of the anniversary of the end of the Second World War would be held in all districts and cities of the region, and in the regional center, a joint prayer and a ceremony on the Hill of Glory would be held these days. Vasyl Hubal said that these events would take place with the participation of the broadest circles of the public – from students to the participants of the ATO and, of course, veterans of the Second World War and the children of war. Celebrations on May 8 and 9 in Ukraine are held under the slogan "We remember. We win."
