UzhNU: a story with a sequel…

Member of the Right Sector of Transcarpathia, the director of the Department for Prevention and Combating Corruption of Uzhgorod National University Vasyl Kepych posted on his page on the social network Facebook the official comment on the incident at Uzhgorod National University Rectorate involving the Right Sector of Transcarpathia.

"Over the last few days, many employees of Uzhgorod National University, acquaintances, friends and other citizens have been turning to me to clarify the situation regarding threats on behalf of the Right Sector Transcarpathia to the Acting Rector Slyvka Oleksandr from an officer of the department, which I head.
My interlocutors are shocked by several factors: firstly, the expressed threats of physical violence, which is unacceptable from a moral and legal point of view; secondly, the fact that the threats were addressed to one of the heads of state institutions; thirdly, that these threats came from a subordinate of the rector, and, finally, that the name of the Right Sector – the organization respected by many Ukrainians – was used. My colleagues are also surprised that my subordinate came to have a "business" conversation with Mr. Slyvka without my consent, and that we are, or rather were in the same organization with him – the Right Sector of Transcarpathia.
Since some media, social networks, following the statements of the RS representatives, spread the information that my subordinate came to the Acting Rector only to discuss the issue of studying of two UzhNU students who are members of the RS, I must say that it is a false information, especially since there was no hint of the "bribe" for its solution. The second visit of the employee to the office of the Acting Rector Slyvka had other purpose. On that day, the investigation team of the Main Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine started to investigate the criminal proceeding registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations over forgery committed by the former administration staff. The real purpose of the visit of my employee, who in this case introduced himself as an authorized representetive of the Right Sector of Transcarpathia, was, by using threats of physical violence from the said organization, to make Mr. Slyvka deny the investigators access to the administration building, not to provide any documents and, in general, "not to offend" Fedir Shandor and Fedir Vashchuk. It is my personal belief that the above mentioned two persons use the Right Sector of Transcarpathia in order to avoid the investigation.
I would like to state that I, as a former police officer of Ukraine and now an employee of UzhNU, consider any interference in the activities of government agencies, using the methods of threats, intimidation, use of force and the destruction of property, unacceptable. In particular, it is suspected that this is being done in the interests of some people who are under investigation.
I want to inform that I joined the RS of Transcarpathia in October 2014 because of my patriotism and ideological views. However, the actions of the Right Sector of Transcarpathia regarding UzhNU and the university management made me decide to withdraw. I regret that the ideology and the image of the organization were tarnished by such provocative, illegal acts of the Right Sector of Transcarpathia. I hope that the leader of the Right Sector D. Yarosh will give a proper assessment of actions committed by leaders of the Right Sector of Transcarpathia".

Recall that yesterday, December 6, a group of men in camouflage for a few hours occupied the administration building of UzhNU with the intention to find out who had threatened the management of the institution. Subsequently, following the complaints of the Acting Rector UzhNU about the threats and seizure of the premises, the Ministry of Internal Affairs Office opened the relevant proceedings.
