Uzhgorod woman, who committed a fatal accident, will be taken into custody

Uzhgorod local prosecutor’s office approved the indictment against a 23-year-old Uzhgorod resident suspected of violating traffic safety rules, which resulted in the victim’s death (Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). 
  
It concerns the traffic accident that happened in the regional center on September 18 around midnight. According to the investigation, the girl, driving a Skoda Fabia in a state of intoxication, failed to maintain a safe speed and, as a result, the car drove to the roadside and collided with a tree. 
At the time of the incident, there were two passengers in the car. One of them, a 19-year-old resident of Uzhgorod, died from her injuries in an ambulance. The suspect was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. She is currently being held in a temporary detention facility. The prosecutor’s office will request for her to be remanded in custody.
