Uzhgorod war for water continues

The "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC demands from the MU "Vodokanal of Uzhgorod" with a request to repay the debt for consumed energy or to reduce consumption to the level of payments, since debt accumulation poses a significant threat to the energy system of Transcarpathian region.  

As of 1.08.2018, the debt exceeds UAH 3.8 million. From May to July, the increase in debts was more than UAH 2 million, and during the last month, the Vodokanal paid only 50 percent of the cost of the consumed electricity.  

Taking into account the aforementioned. the "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC demands:

– To pay existing debts in accordance with the existing contractual terms;

– If it is not possible to pay the debt due to lack of available funds, to take measures according to Part 9, Art. 26 of the Law of Ukraine "On Electric Power Industry", namely: to reduce current electricity consumption to the level of the actual payment for electricity consumed.

The deadline for taking the specified measures is August 20, 2018.

At the same time, the MU "Vodokanal of Uzhgorod" appeals to the city authorities to resolve the issue of financing the subsidy to cover losses under the approved program of financial support for Uzhgorod utilities for 2017. And reminds that about 45% of the cost of water supply and drainage services is the amount of electricity consumed to provide these services. Meanwhile, the level of payment for services by the consumer in the second quarter of 2018 is only 77%.
