Uzhgorod students need their own theater

Recently, the performance "Romeo and Jasmine" was presented in the Transcarpathian Puppet Theater "Bavka". It was produced by the students of the directing department of Uzhgorod College of Culture and Arts under the guidance of director Natalia Oryeshnykova and actor Mykola Karpenko, uzhgorod.net.ua informs. For the first time, the students performed on a real theater stage, and their performance was well received by the audience.

The performance impressed the author of the play Oleksandr Havrosh. He noted both acting and directing in it.

"It is likely that soon we will have a student theater in Uzhgorod. This is what our regional center, where there are more than ten thousand students, lacks badly – the famous Transcarpathian playwright says. – Unfortunately, in Uzhgorod, there are no amateur theaters, although they are very common in the rest of the world.   So, I am very happy for Uzhgorod College of Culture and Arts, students of which are very close to creating their own theater."

Several years ago, known Kyiv director Serhiy Arkhypchuk tried to implement the idea of such theater at the Faculty of Philology of UzhNU. Unfortunately, that attempt was unsuccessful.
