Uzhgorod schools reopen on Monday

This decision was made today at the meeting of the anti-epidemic commission at the Uzhgorod City Council.

Medics and representatives of Uzhgorod city and district branch of the state institution "Transcarpathian Regional Laboratory Center" stated that the timely introduction of restrictive measures among schoolchildren of the city contributed to reducing the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) and stabilization of the epidemiological situation. 

During the last week, as of March 1, the rate of growth of ARVI incidence in Uzhgorod has decreased by 3.5%.

The incidence rate (per 100 thousand population) was 1084.1 (1236 cases), which is 10.2% below the epidemic threshold. 
Among the infected people, 58.3% (721 cases) are children under the age of 17. It is 8.8% less compared to the last week (790 cases).

The number of appeals to family doctors has also decreased, during the last week the incidence increased only in two age groups: among children under the age of 4 (13.5%) and among 65 years old and older – by 1.5 times.

Compared to last week, the rate of hospitalization decreased by 17.2%.

According to daily monitoring of attendance at pre-school educational institutions of Uzhgorod, as of March 1, the percentage of children absent due to illness is about 17%. Preventive and restrictive measures at pre-school educational institutions of the city continue to be taken.
