Uzhgorod prosecutors “We protect the constitutional rights of entrepreneurs”

One of the priorities of Uzhgorod city prosecution office is to protect the constitutional rights of employers from undue pressure by regulatory authorities. In particular, this year the prosecution’s office has made on this occasion three requests to the mayor, the city police and the department of veterinary medicine in Uzhgorod. These requests to eliminate violations of the laws were fulfilled, and four people were disciplined.  

   For example, during the prosecutor’s investigation in the department of veterinary medicine in Uzhgorod, violations of the rights of economic entities were detected. That is, during routine inspections, the department of veterinary medicine did not issue appropriate orders and did not notify entities of the inspections, and the inspectors did not take any measures agaist the found violations of the Law of Ukraine "On safety and quality of food".

   In addition, as previously reported, in the summer, the manager of the supermarket "Velmart" was illegally brought to administrative liability. The mall manager appealed to the prosecutor’s office to check the legality of bringing him to administrative liability by the municipal police of Uzhgorod City Council. Thus, the prosecutor’s office in Uzhgorod found that the decision of the City Council did not comply with the law because the plaintiff had not been served a copy of the report, his rights had not been explained to him and the plan of the site of the offense had not been attached. As a result, the request was sent to the City Council, which was granted, and the decision of the commission with respect to the manager of the mall was canceled.
