Uzhgorod police received a report of the abduction of two people in Onokivtsi

Yesterday, around 16.00, a citizen reported to the police that he had seen two men being kidnapped on the street in the village of Onokivtsi in Uzhgorod district. As the police later found out, it was not really a kidnapping.

On September 14, in the village of Onokivtsi, people saw a man pushing two people into his car and driving off in an unknown direction.

This situation seemed suspicious to a passer-by and he called the police.

Officers of Uzhgorod police department immediately began investigating this crime.

Shortly,  the police found the owner of the car described by the applicant.

The suspect was at his place in Tyihlash village of Uzhgorod district.

The "abductor", who turned out to be the nephew of the "abductees", explained that he indeed had been in Onokivtsi and taken the two men from the street, but he did not abduct them.

It’s just that the uncles, having had too much alcohol, asked the nephew to come and take them home.

The policemen checked – the "victims" were in the same house, alive and unharmed, though rather drunk.

Fortunately, the applicant’s information was not confirmed. Still, we are grateful to the vigilant passer-by for the report, since it could have been a real crime when every second and every detail counts.

We ask all citizens to follow this example and inform the police, who will promptly establish all the details of the incident, and perhaps you will help to save someone’s life.
