For a long time, Transcarpathians have been concerned about the question: where, in the end, will the airport be located – in Uzhgorod or in Mukachevo?
The head of the UkSATSE Andriy Yarmak answered the following:
– On December 18, an agreement with the Slovak party to conclude a treaty on the use of airspace was initialed. Because the airport is located in such a way that the approach is only possible from the Slovak Republic, – the NV wrote.
The Uzhgorod airport runway ends at the border with Slovakia.

In 2018, the UkSATSE was certified by EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency – NV Business), received a certificate from them to provide air navigation services in the airspace of a member state of the European Union, in this case – over Slovakia. As soon as we sign a treaty with Slovakia – and this process is already nearing a logical conclusion – we will have no obstacles for organizing air traffic at Uzhgorod airport. This will make the airport more attractive to airlines. We are now preparing to undergo the EASA annual regular audit.
