For the first day of the book campaign in Uzhgorod, organizers managed to raise 726.80 UAH and 100 HUF. This was reported by a volunteer Maxim Melnyk on his page.
In addition to purely charitable component, this optimistic event has a certain psychological and social component – it destroys the myth of "uselessness" of books. "Uzhgorod residents are incredible: they enthusiastically quote Lermontov, buy "Something about us Rusyns….", read in Slovak, Hungarian, English, French, Ukrainian and Russian… they are fond of classics, look for something elegant, rare and yet rejoice when they hold modern Ukrainian prose….))) They are full of humor, smiling and very European… " – Maxim Melnyk writes.

Recall that this is not the first Book Fair held in Uzhgorod to raise funds to support Transcarpathian soldiers.
