Uzhgorod officials want more land

The distribution, or rather the allocation of land within Uzhgorod is perhaps the most for troublesome issue for the city community. Therefore, the letter delivered to uzhgorod.in deserves, in our opinion, at least, some attention. Here it is in full.

"The head of the Party of Regions faction in Uzhgorod city council Yuriy Belyakov for the second year in a row has been trying to obtain through a strawman a ​​9 hectares land plot. This became known yesterday after the meeting of the Land Commission of Uzhgorod City Council. The plot, which Belyakov set his sights on, is located on Yenkivska Street, near the Black Lakes. Actually, they also wanted to lease the reservoir itself.

As informed by our sources, the application for the allocation of land for long term lease for farming purposes for the first time was submitted last year. It was submitted on behalf of a citizen named Horznov registered in the village of Kontsovo, at Myr Street, 10. But Yuriy Belyakov lobbied this case.

According to our information, last year the head of the Party of Regions faction in Uzhgorod city council, apparently fearing disclosure, withdrew the application and the issue was not considered. But recently he again tried to push it through. However, the Land Commission denied the request for the allocation of this land plot.

Probably, Yuriy Belyakov will try again to get this land. Judging from his repeated attempts, we can conclude that his intentions are serious.
