Uzhgorod may become an intermediary in cooperation with Pardubice region

Transcarpathian delegation is visiting Pardubice region in the Czech Republic.

According to the website of Pardubice region, the partnership of Pardubice region with Presov self-governing land of Slovakia and Transcarpathian region of Ukraine is characterized not only by formal friendship, but also by specific projects.

Their representatives gathered these days in Pardubice. One of the purposes of the visit is the assistance in attracting workers from Ukraine to firms in the Pardubice region.

"For me personally, mutual solidarity is essential in relations with partner regions. At a time when one of us is in a difficult situation, the other one should help. As they say, a friend in need is a friend indeed," – the Hetman of Pardubice region Martin Netolicki said.

"Mutual cooperation also promotes education, culture and social projects that we were able to implement the best," – the Hetman said.

Martin Netolicki also said: "Yesterday, we agreed with the Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Volodymyr Chubirko to try to establish in Uzhgorod the coordinating center for our entrepreneurs and people from Ukraine seeking work. This center will help to intensify contacts in the business sector and to find jobs for people who have lost it and also to find workers for our companies.I see a symbolic reciprocity in this. Here, it is us who need help."

"I am delighted that we have made progress on the issue of employment of the residents of Transcarpathia. Many of our citizens working in the Czech Republic now have the opportunity to legalize their way into the labor market" – the Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Volodymyr Chubirko said. – We have a common history, we used to live in the same country. So, it is very important to us that the cooperation is expanding. Fundamental structural changes are now underway in Ukraine, and we are interested in further implemention of the projects in cooperation" – V.Chubirko added.

Representatives of both partner regions will stay in Pardubice region until September 9.
