Uzhgorod has received the audio guide, the city guide and the travel site Discover Uzhhorod

Today, in Uzhgorod Press Club, there was a meeting, the main theme of which was the results of the project "Discover Uzhgorod. The first step to know Transcarpathia", namely its products: audio-guide, city guide and tourist site Discover Uzhhorod.

The Project Manager Victoria Nimets said: "Our city has a magnificent architecture, old cultural traditions, and all that attracts tourists to our region. We are often tourists ourselves and when planning our trip, we look for maps, guidebooks, plan routes, study the weather and so on of the city we are headed to. Several years ago, we monitored the situation in Uzhgorod and found that there is not enough information for tourists, and the available information scattered among different resources. So we decided to implement a tourism project. Our project was supported by the CBC program Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine. We are implementing the project in cooperation with Slovak partners."

"For a start, we have assembled a team of experts – public figures, photographers, journalists, developers site designers. Together we studied Slovak practices and visited the Tourism Forum in Barcelona, established contacts with experts of the world tourism market", – Victoria Nimets says.

This Friday, December 18, the project team will present all their achievements. Currently, we have developed the audio guide (containing 25 major objects) recorded in three languages - Ukrainian, Slovak and English. We have also created a trilingual printed city guide and developed the site Discover Uzhhorod with useful information and interesting route planner. On the same day, a pilot bus tour and presentation of these tourism products will take place.

The presentation will take place in the restaurant "Varos". During the presentation, the project results and future prospects in the field of tourism will be discussed. The event will be attended by representatives of local authorities, representatives of consular institutions, community activists and organizations, representatives of travel agencies and tour operators, as well as all people interested in developing joint tourism projects and the development of Uzhgorod as a tourist destination. To participate in the event, please contact us by email [email protected] or by phone +38(099) 727 24 53.
