As we reported, in the premises of Uzhgorod City Council, officers of the State Bureau of Invetigations and the Security Service of Ukraine are carrying out investigative actions regarding the allocation of land.
The Security Service of Ukraine caught the deputy chairman of the Uzhgorod city council on widespread abuse of office. As a result of the official’s fraud, the land plots, which are intended for housing construction, were alienated from the city community.
The special service officers found out that in 2014, being a member of the Land Commission of the City Council, the official granted to stand-ins three plots of land with a total area of 0.3 hectares. Later, the land was illegally transferred to his wife, who sold it to her friend this summer for 1 million 200 thousand hryvnias.
Within the criminal proceedings opened under Part 2 of Art. 364 (abuse of power or official position) of the Criminal code of Ukraine, searches were conducted in the premises of Uzhgorod city council and at the suspect’s office and place of residence.
The deputy chairman of the City Council will be notified of being suspected of committing a crime.
The searches were conducted together with the territorial department of the State Bureau of Investigation in Lviv under the procedural control of the Transcarpathian Prosecutor’s Office.
