The Mayor of Uzhgorod Bogdan Andriyiv, his deputy Oleksandr Gabor and the chief of the financial department Lesya Hakh before the official opening of today’s extraordinary session of the City Council, at a joint meeting of standing committees, briefly explained the details of attraction of international funds to upgrade water supply and wastewater systems in Uzhgorod. The session was convened in order to resolve this matter, it was reported on the page of Uzhgorod City Council on Facebook.
It was noted that by July 1, companies, that want to take part in the project under the agreement on granting Ukraine the loans of the European Investment Bank, shall submit the decision of the local government that they are authorized to raise a loan. In Transcarpathia, the cities of Uzhgorod, Khust, Beregovo are going to apply for loans.
25 deputies of Uzhgorod City Council were registered at the session. After discussion and comments on the draft decision to permit the city water utility to participate in the project for raising credit funds of the European Investment Bank for the reconstruction of water supply networks, all 25 deputies supported it. Constructive proposals were made by the budget committee chairman Vasyl Homonay. The acting manager of the water utility reported on the current state of the company, chronic lack of funds.
