The city’s educators gathered today in the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic to celebrate the Day of the Teacher, who this year is on October 1. According to the press service of the Uzhgorod City Council, Uzhgorod teachers were congratulated by the city mayor Bohdan Andriyiv, his deputies Igor Fartushok, Oleksandr Bilak, Vasyl Homonay, administrator of the executive committee Olena Makara, and the City Council Secretary Andriana Sushko.
"Children spend with you at least one third of their time, you are authority for them, because you give not only knowledge of school subjects, but also teach how to leave," – Bohdan Andriyiv said and wished the educators health, high salaries, inquisitive students, understanding parents and reliable colleagues.
The Deputy Head of the City Education Department Marina Pukivska stressed that the new law on education provides for many changes, requires innovative approaches and a conceptual transition to a "school of competence" and presented the Teacher’s Code of Ethics, which was developed in Uzhgorod and regulates the standards of teachers’ behavior.
Then, the Honored Academic Transcarpathian Folk Choir performed for the educators.
