Uzhgorod activist Svitlyk believes that his car was set on fire because of his fight against squandering of the municipal property (COMMENTARY)

Last night, someone tried to burn the car of a public activist, Yuriy Svitlyk.

This is what he told Uzhgorod.in: around two o’clock in the morning, two young men (as reported by witnesses, neighbors), threw some container with incendiary mix into his car Opel Combo, which was parked near the 5th dormitory, having broken a window on the passenger side. The car started to burn from inside, the seats and the dashboard got scorched, but neighbours noticed and quickly extinguished the fire.

Yuriy commented the situation: "Most likely, the arsonists are not professionals. Those burn cars so that little remains of them. What can it be attributed to? Definitely, with my social and political activities. Because I have no conflicts in other areas. Specifically? Now we are fighting with the carve-up of the city municipal property by the current leadership of the city – Pogorelov-Andryiv-Voloshin, and also we are supporting the people in the conflict with the "Korzo" store, where the other party is Mayerchyk."

Now, the police and experts are working on the incident.
