Ukrainian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship has kicked off in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

The tournament started today with a parade of the participants greeted by the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksiy Petrov, the mayor of Uzhgorod Bohdan Andriyiv, the head of the youth and sports department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Pavlo Kryndach, the head of the Transcarpathian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation Valentyna Plavayko, the Chief Judge of the competition Marina Semenyuk. 
“Rhythmic gymnastics is one of the most spectacular and beautiful sports. It is gratifying that the Transcarpathian school of rhythmic gymnastics has high achievements, athletes bring glory to our country far beyond its borders. One of them is Valeria Yuzvyak from Uzhgorod, master of sports of international class, who is now the captain of Ukraine’s national rhythmic gymnastics team in group exercises,” – Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv said ​​in his welcoming speech. Bohdan Andriyiv thanked the organizers, coaches, wished the participants good luck and victories. 
More than a hundred young gymnasts from Luhansk, Kyiv, Volyn, Poltava, Kharkiv and Transcarpathian regions are taking part in the competition. After the official opening, the competition continued and will last until Saturday, October 3.
