Ukraine and Poland have agreed to build a new gas pipeline on the common border.
This was stated by the Prime Minister Yatsenyuk after a meeting with the Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz.
The agreement was signed between the "Naftogaz of Ukraine" National Joint Stock Company and the Polish gas transmission system operator Gaz-System SA
"An agreement on the construction of interconnector between Poland and Ukraine has been signed. Interconnector is, simply, a gas pipe between Poland and Ukraine," – he said.
Yatsenyuk said that up to 10 billion cubic meters of gas a year can be supplied from Europe through the new pipeline.
He said that its not for increase of reverse supplies from the European Union but for access to gas from LNG-terminals in Lithuania and Poland.
As reported, Ukraine hopes to agree to resume natural gas supplies from Poland soon.
