Trembitas are calling to the Synevyr again (Announcement)

The festival "Trembitas calling to the Synevyr" is a highlight of the Ukrainian Carpathians and Mizhhirya district.

The festival is held to promote the Transcarpathian traditions and folklore, to present tourist attractions in the region, in particular, the Synevyr Lake, which is the largest lake of the Ukrainian Carpathians.

Traditionally, shepherds in the mountains used trembitas to inform villagers, about different events (weddings, deaths and funerals) using different melodies.

The folklore and ethnographic festival "Trembitas calling to the Synevyr" is aimed at reviving the traditions of Transcarpathians.

Symbolically, the festival takes place on the territory which is included in the list of "10 values ​​of Transcarpathia"

Dates: 20th of August, 2017

As always, the organizers of the holidays are expecting many guests both from the capital of our state, the neighboring regions, and from abroad.

Reference: Trembita – the largest wind musical instrument – is a conical wooden pipe without lateral holes, reaching 4 m in length. Trembita’s range is up to 2.5 octaves, sound travel distance is more than 10 km.
