Transcarpathians are invited to a concert in memory of Hungarian classics

On May 5, in the Transcarpathian Philharmonic Hall, there will be a concert in memory of two geniuses of classical music – Bela Bartok and Zoltan Kodály.

Last year, the world celebrated the 135th anniversary of Bela Bartok, on the occasion of which the Government of Hungary declared 2016 the year of the composer. And this year marks the 135th anniversary of the birth and the 50th anniversary of the death of renowned composer, musicologist and educator Zoltán Kodály.

In order to honor the mentioned anniversaries and to once again present masterpieces of great composers, the concert with the participation of the Academic Chamber Choir "Cantus", the chamber orchestra of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic and soloists Zoltan Almashi (cello), Dmytro Bondarenko (violin), Jozsef Ermin (piano) and Mariana Laba (soprano) will take in Uzhgorod.

Notably, Béla Bartók and Zoltán Kodály were also good friends. In the history of art, such creative tandems are rather rare. Therefore, the concert is titled "Parallels".

The beginning is at 18.30.

The concert is organized by the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhgorod with the support of the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
