Transcarpathian soldiers died in Rivno region due to the explosion of a “Molot” mortar

The explosion at the training ground in Rivne region, which occurred today, July 6, was caused by a "Molot" mortar.

"We repeatedly tried to draw attention to the problems with the "Molot" – journalist and volunteer Olga Reshetylova wrote on Facebook. – Metal experts say that the steel grade does not meet the technical specifications, it is softer than it should be. It is necessary to examine the metal in order to find out the causes of the explosions. But we were told not to interfere. Because we are dumb civilians and do not understand anything. And now people died and got seriously injured at the Rivne training ground. What are we going to do?"  Reshetylova asks.

It is noted that the first fatal incident with the "Molot" mortar happened two years ago, and since then 12 people have died.

According to the updated information, on Friday (6.07), at the Rivne training range, three soldiers of the 15 separate mountain infantry battalion (one officer and two privates), which is a part of the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade and is based in Uzhgorod, were killed. Another nine servicemen (two officers, as well as ordinary and senior soldiers) were wounded and taken to the hospital. Two of the killed soldiers are residents of Uzhgorod, one is a resident of Perechyn district.
