Transcarpathian Smolanka once again headed the Ukrainian Association

For three days – June 14-16 – the VI congress of the Ukrainian Association of Neurosurgeons was taking place in Kharkiv. This highest medical forum is held every four years and covers a wide range of professional issues including theoretical and practical aspects of neurosurgery, neurology, rehabilitation and more. At the congress, it was noted that neurosurgery is now one of the most dynamic areas of modern medicine. Its success in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, vascular, traumatic, inflammatory and degenerative lesions of the structures of the central and peripheral nervous system results from fundamental advances in neuroscience and practical implementation of modern, innovative technologies.

The congress was also dynamic and eventful. Its delegates from all over Ukraine and 14 countries were sharing with colleagues their own practical experience and professional knowledge, presented new technologies and developments in the field of neuroscience and possibilities of their practical use.

At the end of the congress, the election of the new leadership of the Ukrainian Association of Neurosurgeons took place. The delegates of the congress re-elected the renowned neurosurgeon, winner of the National Medical Award of Ukraine, MD, Rector of Uzhgorod National University, Professor Volodymyr Smolanka as the President of the Association for the next four years, the site of UzhNU informs.
