The management of the State Emergencies Service appealed to all the organizers of events to mark the celebration of Epiphany with a request to inform rescuers about them, as the Christian tradition of celebrating the Epiphany provides for holding events near water.
In general, venues for celebrations on bodies of water or near them, according to the Rules of protection of life in the water bodies of Ukraine, shall be determined by local administrations in coordination with the rescue teams of the State Emergencies Service in order to choose a place near bodies of water or on their banks, which meets safety requirements and reduces the possibility of an accident.
In addition, during meetings with organizers of events, experts of the State Emergencies Service remind them about safety measures on water. Many people do not even know that at the time of the events, there should be clearly defined persons responsible for the safety of those who are going to dive into the hole.
Depending on the number of participants, the State Emergencies Service are ready to send rescuers to help the organizers, and deploy special rescue posts for the time of holding the events, the statement posted on the website of the territorial office reads.
