Transcarpathian law enforcement officers caught a group of drug lords (PHOTOS)

A group of persons, who were involved in the illicit manufacture and sale of drugs and have established their illegal transportation across the state border of Ukraine to the countries of Europe, was detained in Transcarpathia.

Due to the effective cooperation of investigative and operational units of the law enforcement agencies of the region, a group of persons engaged in illicit cultivation, sale and smuggling of drugs (Part 2 of Art. 307 and Part 2 of Art. 305 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) was detained.

According to preliminary information, the group of persons have organized illegal transportation of drugs across the state border of Ukraine to Europe.

In particular, on the territory of Vynogradiv district, at the border crossing point "Vylok" on the border with Hungary, a local resident was detained when attempting to illegally carry about a kilogram of a narcotic from Ukraine to Europe.

Also, in the course of a joint special operation, 7 searches were conducted at the suspects in the criminal proceeding. 
As a result, they found and seized 15 million Hungarian forints, 10 thousand US dollars, almost 10 thousand euros, cars, a gun "Fort", more than 140 plants similar to hemp, a grenade RGD 5, three black masks, a package with 400 grams of a substance of vegetable origin similar to hemp, etc. Appropriate forensic examinations have been arranged for.

At present, top-priority investigative activities are being conducted, motions for detention of the persons involved in the criminal proceeding and the seizure of the found property have been filed.

It is known that recently they detained an officer of the Vynogradiv Police Department, who, together with his colleagues, in return for 50 thousand US dollars, promised to cover the operation of a drug lab in Vynogradiv. The above-mentioned fact is a continuation of effective concerted effects of law enforcement officers of the region to combat drug trafficking in the region.
