Transcarpathian foresters learn about deforestation on the Internet

The first deputy head of the regional department of forestry and hunting Vasyl Pukman learned about the cases of deforestation (possibly illegal) from posts on the Internet.  He announced this today, December 5, at the briefing at the press center of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration. "I saw pictures on the internet, though they still prove nothing" – he said.

The cases in question are tree cutting near the village of Kamyanytsya in Uzhgorod district and near the Tepla Yama tract on the border of Uzhgorod and Perechyn districts. According to Mr. Vasyl, the department specialists are checking both cases, and if the information is confirmed, the response will be tough.
At the same time, says Vasyl Pukman, people negatively perceive the export of wood. "If in doubt, it is better to contact a state enterprise, in this case – Uzhgorod forestry" – he advised.
