From 13 to 23 of June, the training session of fencers took place in the village of Kostryno, Velyky Berezny District. Athletes from the reserve of fencing team of Transcarpathian region born in 2001-2005 were training. Young fencers fo Transcarpathian region, together with fencers of Khmelnytsky and Kyiv, spent 10 days in the picturesque foothills of the Mount Krasiya, in the methodical center of Uzhgorod division of Lviv railway – the head coach of the fencing team Serhiy Horetsky said. The Department of Youth and Sports of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration contributed to the organization of training by financing accommodation of all Transcarpathian athletes and coaches.
Success of Transcarpathian fencers can not but to please: this year, young athletes became champions of Ukraine among juniors, champions of Ukraine among cadets, foil fencers won 3rd place at the Championship of Ukraine among cadets, and the junior women’s team became the silver medalist of the Championship of Ukraine and recently at the Championship of Ukraine among adults, our girls won the 3rd place, also there was a bronze medal of the European Championship (Kharkova Vlada) and, of course, a triumph at the World Championship (Anatoliy Herey).
