Transcarpathian deputies ask the head of the government to resume funding for the flood control program

Taking into account the urgent need for a comprehensive solution of issues related to flood control measures in Transcarpathian region, the regional council at the first plenary meeting of the 10th session adopted a decision "On the Appeal of the Transcarpathian Regional Council on ways to resolve flood protection issues in the region" and sent it to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.

The document states: "Deputies of the Transcarpathian Regional Council are grateful for the prompt consideration of the materials submitted by the Regional State Administration and the signing of a respective order dated January 29, 2018 No. 2884/1 / 1-18 on the allocation of funds from the reserve fund of the state budget for the elimination of the consequences of the emergency situation of December 15-17, 2017 in Transcarpathian region.

The documents were reviewed by the commission of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine and underwent expert assessment of the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine. According to the regulations, the materials should undergo further assessments by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, which may take the time necessary to conduct an entire complex of priority flood-control measures in settlements and agricultural land during the summer period.

Taking into account the state of the protective facilities destroyed by flood, the need to carry out urgent (priority) works on their restoration, we are asking to expedite the consideration of the issue on allocation of funds from the reserve fund of the state budget of Ukraine. Positive solution to this issue is another step in resuming the funding for the flood control program in Transcarpathia."
