Last night, at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod", border guards of the Chop detachment found a batch of amber, which a 55-year-old Ukrainian citizen was trying to secretly transport to Slovakia.
During a joint inspection of a minibus Ford on its way out of Ukraine, law enforcement officers found a bag with stones under the driver’s seat. They were later identified as amber.
Stones of different colors and sizes with a total weight of 2.2 kg were packed in two plastic bags and hidden among personal belongings.
The found amber was confiscated by customs officers. The value of the amber is currently being estimated.
