Employees of the State Border Guard Service use unmanned aerial vehicles for the purpose of air patrolling the state border line and controlled border areas, counteraction to the illegal transportation of persons across the state border, illegal migration, as well as the illegal transportation of weapons, narcotic substances, materials and items prohibited for transportation across the state border and other illegal activities at the state border.
In particular, today, in the area of the "Luzhanka" department of the Mukachevo border guard detachment, the first launch of a drone, which is part of the unmanned aviation complex "Spectator-M", was carried out.
The use of such drones will allow border guards to carry out inspections of remote areas and perform tasks that require inspection in hard-to-reach areas, especially in the mountainous areas of Transcarpathia.
The Spectator-M system is mostly used for thermal imaging and video surveillance. The results of such surveillance are recorded by the land control station and transmitted to the management center of the service, which will allow border guards to respond more promptly to signs of illegal activity at the border.
